As the Controller, you will plan and direct all accounting operational functions, manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assess accounting and internal control systems, and guide departmental staff. The full-time Controller position is situated in the Westfield, Indiana area. What you get to do every single day - Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation - Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies - Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings collections, and payroll - Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation - Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports - Manage the production of the yearly budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly - Perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities - Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis - Analyze deliverables of self and team to confirm they meet client expectations - Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time - Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals - Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed - Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners - Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation - Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques - Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations G/L analysis - Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis - Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings collections, and payroll - Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies - Check deliverables of self and team to certify they meet client expectations - Respond on items beyond formal job responsibilities - Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management
