Kelly Services Materials Process Engineer in Warsaw, Indiana

Kelly Services is currently looking to hire a Materials Process Engineer to work for one of our top Medical Device clients in Warsaw, IN

Important information: This position is recruited for by a remote Kelly office, not your local Kelly branch. Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Scope:

Candidate will provide technical guidance to the operations and quality assurance groups in efforts relating to materials and processes performed in the manufacture of medical products. Candidate will Develop New processes or materials and processes.

Execute materials characterization studies independently and interpret results. Provide Study reports

Lead materials research in process validation efforts. Deliver Process validation.

Goal: Project management of cost savings initiatives for materials cost in manufacturing processes

Candidate will Complete Attribute Test Method Validation (ATMV) for Porocoat Inspection Process

Define cosmetic acceptance criteria for Porous coated products

Establish library of product examples for training and testing

Establish a cosmetic training program

Execute the ATMV

Establish documented training procedure for cosmetic acceptance criteria for Porous coated products

Reduce Production Scrap Associated with Porous Coated Products

The scrap rate among porous coated products for cosmetic defects is > 1.5% in 2018 YTD. Support the JJPS Porous Coating Scrap Reduction project as a core team member and implement solutions to reduce the scrap rate for porous coated products.

Reduce the scrap rate for cosmetic defects among porous coated products.

Reduce Downtime for Automated Porocoat Application Lines (APAL)

Learn the functionality of the APAL equipment through first-hand observation and contact with the manufacturer

Complete Pareto analysis on APAL equipment to identify leading downtime contributors

Troubleshoot and mitigate the largest contributors to APAL downtime

Increase uptime for the APAL 1 and APAL 2.

Qualifications Required:

Engineering/science degree required

1-5 years of experience

Experience with manufacturing process changes

Experience with Gauge R&R

Experience working and training of shop floor/manufacturing employees

Strong technical writing skills

Excellent communication skills

Experience with Medical device industry highly preferred – Must have regulated industry experience
