The Global Power Solutions division currently has a Price List Analyst in Oil & Gas' Technical Marketingteam located in Lafayette, IN. In this role, you will use a unique blend oftechnical and marketing skills used to facilitate the introduction ofCaterpillar products to our dealer network. Work completed as part of this position is considered a critical pieceof the technical information needed to help facilitate the sale of engine,engine and generator packages, transmission, well service pumps and otherproducts into the Oil & Gas market.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Act as liaison between Engineering and Marketing

  • Work directly with Engineering to define product structure

  • Identify and resolve issues with existing price list

  • Develop a working understanding of the entire price list creation process

  • Work with downstream groups responsible for translating price list structure into Caterpillar's ERP (Engineering Resource Planning) system

  • Facilitate communications with Caterpillar dealers regarding price list changes and introduction schedule

  • Work with NPI (New Product Introduction) managers to ensure timely launch of products

  • Gain experience with Business Intelligence data gathering and reporting tools

  • Utilize problem solving skills to improve workflow velocity through the use of automation

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

One of the following educational and experience levels:

  • 2 year Associates degree 4 years of experience job-related

  • 4 year degree 2 years of experience job-related

  • 4 year technical degree (Engineering or Engineering Technologies from any discipline and/or Computer Science degree)

One of the following problem solving capabilities:

  • Programming or scripting experience (i.e. JavaScript (JS), Visual Basic (VB / VBA), AutoHotKey (AHK), Python, Ruby, SQL and/or other related languages)

  • Experience with one of the more common problem solving methodologies (Eight Discipline Method (known as 8D or Ford Method), Five Why methodology, Kaizan, Lean Six Sigma, Failure Mode and/or Effects Analysis (FMEA)

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience with Caterpillar and/or other Heavy Industry's product lines

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Experience in technical writing

  • Experience with creation of marketing material

  • Ability to identify process improvements of existing processes

  • Ability to create new workflows that utilize advancements in present day technologies

  • Strong desire to lead the adoption of new methodologies

  • Capable of influencing and building consensus in order to meet business objectives

  • Experience with one of the following reporting tools: (Power BI, Tableau, SAP's Web Intelligence)
