Position Title: Senior Staff Accountant

Location: Fishers, IN

Reports To: Accounting and Consolidation Manager

Responsible for assisting in general ledger accounting and financial reporting, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.


  • Supports the Accounting and Consolidation Manager in maintainingan efficient closing process which meets the reporting needs of allorganizational levels

  • Prepares and reviews journal entries and performs monthlyreconciliations and analysis of various balance sheet accounts to ensureappropriate accounting

  • Accounting and reporting leader for sales/use tax and manage taxaudits

  • Accounting and reporting leader for commissions/royalties ensuringall transactions are properly approved, tracked, and reported by business units

  • Applies fundamental accounting theories and concepts to supportthe business operations in day-to-day accounting needs, resolving GeneralAccounting related issues and disputes or escalates, as required

  • Reviews existing processes, recommending opportunities tostreamline, standardize and create scalable solutions using tools such as Exceland SAP

  • Supports Accounting and Consolidation Manager in strategicprojects and continuous improvement initiatives implementation

  • Assists withmonthly and year end closings, budget preparation, gathering of information forthe preparation of federal tax filing, preparation of year-end work papers foroutside auditors, adherence to SOX controls and corporate policies, ERP integrationsand additional assignments as directed

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an accounting-based discipline; CPA or equivalent preferred

  • Excellent practical knowledge of generallyaccepted accounting principles and general ledger transactions

  • 4+ years of progressive and relevantexperience; SAP experience stronglypreferred ; HFM/Hyperion experience preferred

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skillset, including Vlookupsand pivot tables required; SAP highly preferred

  • Demonstration of ability to improve processesand increase efficiency

  • Experience with royalties, commissions andsales/use tax preferred

  • Interpersonal skills capable of working effectivelyindependently or with a variety of people

  • Strong self-starting and organizational skills, with a high concern fordetail and accuracy

  • Drive and determination to make an impact through process improvement

  • Ability to act decisively, thinking and acting strategically, in afast-paced environment with frequently shifting and/or conflicting priorities

  • Demonstrate ability to display diplomacy in day to day interactions withthe commitment to task with awareness of urgency

  • Ability towork overtime or occasionally on weekends with short notice on an asneeded basis

  • Typicaloffice environment

  • Travel lessthan 5%
